POCONO SNOW SOCCER CLUB DEFEAT BUXMONT TORCH, 2-1

Roshane Eillison scores both Snow goals in first half; Snow riding 1-0-2 record in last three games

Two first half goals scored one minute apart by Roshane Ellison proved to be the difference in a 2-1 Pocono Snow win over BuxMont Torch, last night. The win, the Snow's final home match to be played at East Stroudsburg University's Eiler-Martin Stadium, has given the club a 1-0-2 record in their last three matches (5 points total), and much confidence going into this Sunday's match against the New Jersey Blaze.

The first goal scored by Ellison came in the 24th minute off a cross by Nezir Alic. Alic beat the Buxmont defender deep into the Snow's offensive half, then sent a low driving cross that caused BuxMont's goalkeeper, Jonathon Valerio, to dive. As Valerio was not able to get to the ball, Ellison had no problem settling and putting the ball away into an open net.

Ellison's second goal would come just moments later, in the 25th minute, when the Snow's captain would put home a corner kick from Roy "Uppa" Thompson. Thompson's high floating corner, found Ellison, whose stab at the ball just got by the BuxMont keeper.

BuxMont would get one goal back in the 67th minute of the match, when Matt Edgar would score for the away team. The Snow outshot BuxMont 13-11 on the day. Snow goalkeeper, Bob Pipech, a Pleasant Valley graduate, made seven saves, while Jonathon Valerio made 10 saves for BuxMont Torch.

The Pocono Snow play their final regular season home match this Sunday, July 10th. The match will be played at the University of Scranton's Fitzpatrick Field. Kickoff will be at 5pm. Tickets for this Sunday's match against NJ Blaze are $5 per person, with all tickets for kids under 14, being $3. Parking is free.
